The board of Directors of SERING has founded METRO Ltd. in 1985. METRO operates under a quality control system, according to ISO 9001:2000 and provides high-standard in situ and laboratory tests and controls of construction materials.
METRO is authorized by the Italian Ministry of Public Works to carry out tests on construction materials (concrete and steel) and geotechnical tests on soil and rocks according to Italian and international standards and has enabled SERING to efficiently cope with the experimental side of work.
The main activities carried out by METRO concern:
- Physical and mechanical testing on concrete, steel, aggregates, grouts, mortars, bricks and geotextiles
- Concrete and steel bar sampling, carbonation depth measurement, cover-meter testing, Schmidt hammer test, ultrasonic testing

- Endoscopic survey of concrete and masonry structures and boreholes
