The two bulk cranes, which are no longer in operation, are located at the northeast end of the trapezoidal pier in the port of Palermo. They were built starting in 1983 to meet an increase in freight traffic and intent on streamlining the handling operations in a port area historically born to fulfill this function.
Sering partecipated in the international design competition for artistic and architectural project for the requalification of the two cranes as a future symbol of the port-city interaction.
