| The project concerned the reconstruction of Montescuro Ovest Distribution Network, from the springs to Trapani City, including derivations serving the catchment area, and upgrading of Sambuca di Sicilia Drinking Water Treatment Plant and control systems. The network is constituted of about 200 km of pipelines crossing the South-West area of Sicily, 130 km of which are primary and 70 km are secondary.
The design activities have regarded the following : Sering developed the design assistance for all engineering aspects of the Detailed Design, including field surveys and expropriations Services comprised the following: • Topographical surveys and investigations • Review of the Preliminary design • Hydraulic modelling • Design of structural works (rail, road and river crossings) • Design of electrical plants and of 6 pumping stations • Design specifications for the protection of steel pipes from corrosion • Environmental Impact Assessment; • Preparation of Tender documents for Design-Build Contract Within the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment specific studies have been carried out by Sering in order to define the measures for the best environmental and landscaping of the works. |
